UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS IN A BEAUTIFUL SPACE

in response to the violence in charlottesville, flower house founder lisa waud invites you to explore effective action with your neighbors--resisting complacancy in the current trump administration and standing up to racism in any form--under a beautiful floral installation.

i'm not in a position to lead discussion, i don't have solutions, and i often say the wrong thing, but i can create a space of beauty for conversations that may advance education and understanding.

let's get offline and into real life. let's explore when to talk, when to listen, and when to act.

bring flowers to add to the installation if you have them, food to pass with your neighbors if you enjoy cooking, and most importantly, a willingness to engage in uncomfortable conversations.

this installation will take place on the property where flower house once stood--where many folks have gathered before to take solace in beauty, and where i have learned much about how i want to live and learn in detroit.
